OUR PHILOSOPHY

Out of Edits is for women who are done letting other people decide what their lives should look like.

So much of life comes with a script already written. How success should look. What you should want. When you should settle down, stay put, keep going, or simply be grateful for the life you already have.

For some women, that path works. For others, eventually they start questioning whether it's the life they actually want.

Out of Edits explores what happens when a woman starts questioning those default settings and choosing for herself. We share stories of women who are living, working, earning, traveling, loving, and defining success differently.

The point isn't to hand her a new template. It's to give her more examples of what a life can look like, expand what she knows is possible, and trust her to decide what she wants. And when we share a woman's story, I want more than the highlight reel. How did she actually do it? What did it cost? How did she make money? What changed along the way?

Out of Edits documents the messy, beautiful process of building a life that feels like your own.

Elle Mills is the founder and editor of Out of Edits, a global publication exploring choice, reinvention, and the many ways women build lives outside the default path.

After years of changing careers, building businesses, living in different cities and countries, and repeatedly choosing again when something stopped feeling right, Elle became interested in a bigger question: how much of what we consider a "normal" life did we actually choose?

Through her writing and the stories she curates for Out of Edits, she explores the different ways women are living, working, earning, traveling, loving, and defining success, and why seeing more examples can change what we think is possible.
